Hey there, art lovers! If you're coming to my art show DIVE at 17 Midland Road from 26th-29th June you may like to make a day of it and seek out more Bristol art or look to explore the best Bristol art galleries. If you like art, you've definitely come to the right place. Bristol is a city bubbling with creativity, and its diverse range of art spaces offers something for every taste, from contemporary masterpieces to hidden independent gems.

17 Midland Road where I am hosting my up and coming swimming themed art show, DIVE, is an excellent, creative space that hosts many artists and creative groups who want an opportunity to showcase their work. Keep an eye out on their Instagram page for exciting up and coming shows.

If you're wondering which other Bristol galleries to visit, let's explore through some of my absolute favourites.

First on your list should be the iconic Arnolfini. Situated right on Bristol's historic harbour, this international arts centre is a must-visit for anyone interested in contemporary art in Bristol. The Arnolfini consistently hosts groundbreaking exhibitions, challenging perceptions and offering fresh perspectives. Its stunning waterside location, combined with a fantastic bookshop and café, makes it an ideal spot to immerse yourself in Bristol's art scene.

Next, make your way to the magnificent Royal West of England Academy (RWA). As one of the most prestigious Bristol art galleries, the RWA showcases an impressive collection of both historic and contemporary art. Its grand architecture provides a beautiful backdrop for a diverse range of exhibitions, often featuring works by esteemed academicians and significant touring shows. It's a cornerstone for anyone exploring Bristol art.

For a truly authentic taste of Bristol's independent spirit, venture into the areas of Stokes Croft and Old Market. These vibrant neighbourhoods are home to numerous smaller, often artist-run, Bristol galleries. Here you'll discover raw talent and unique exhibitions. Keep an eye out for spaces like Centrespace Gallery which contribute significantly to the city's grassroots art movement.

A standout among Bristol galleries that embodies this creative energy is Spike Island. More than just an exhibition space, Spike Island is a dynamic hub for artists, offering a fascinating insight into the artistic process. Their cutting-edge contemporary art exhibitions are a fantastic way to discover emerging and established talent, making it a key destination for anyone interested in the pulse of Bristol art.

And of course, no discussion of Bristol art would be complete without mentioning its world-renowned street art (you've heard of Banksy right?!). While not traditional Bristol art galleries, the streets themselves, particularly in areas like Stokes Croft and Bedminster, serve as an incredible open-air museum. From famous works by elusive artists to vibrant murals by local talents, the street art scene is a dynamic and ever-evolving part of Bristol's artistic identity.
