Hannah Rollings is a painter, educator and researcher living in the Surrey Hills whose work provides an immersive look at our relationship with the natural world. Her vibrant, expressive paintings bridge studio and plein air, inviting viewers to move beyond mere observation and form a sensory connection with nature, place and memory.

A pivotal moment in Hannah’s career was completing a practice-led PhD on “picturing trees” through Kingston University in collaboration with the Forestry Commission. This extensive research shifted her focus from commercial illustration to a deeply immersive, landscape-based practice

Since then she has worked prolifically, exhibiting in group shows in St Ives, London and Paris. Recent international projects include Hannah’s 2024 residency at the Seefood Room Gallery in Hong Kong which led to a solo exhibition exploring the delicate space between abstraction and representation and a significant commissioned exhibition for Chartreuse, Paris in spring 2025, inspired by the monastery’s deep botanical heritage.
