Currents series
This series of small works on paper was inspired by Erica's trips to the East Dart river for a commission she was working on.
On repeated visits to the section of river near Dartmeet, she observed the river flowing through the temperate rainforest. She was especially drawn to the twisting shapes of the trees, and their darkness when it rained. The pieces began as gel plate prints, which Erica then built upon and developed with acrylics and wax pastels.
I love these atmospheric pieces which are perfect for a gallery wall, tucked on a shelf or inhabiting a quiet corner.
