Chipped China Blue grew from a love of wandering brocantes and second hand markets in the South of France, always drawn to old terracotta pots, vintage ceramics and slightly imperfect pieces. The blue pot becomes a statement form, built through soft layers of acrylic on an offcut of reclaimed wood. Sanded back and reworked over time, the painting becomes an object in itself, with the worn, tactile feel of something collected and kept.
